Ahmet TOKKAN

Ahmet TOKKAN was born in Istanbul in 1952. He completed his primary and secondary education at Vefa High School. He is the General Manager of Mermak A.Ş., a family company that manufactures marble machinery. The company has been exporting to Middle Eastern and African countries since 1986.

He served as a founding member of the Entrepreneurial Committee of Kocaeli-Gebze VI. (IMES) Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (IMES OSB), as well as a member of the IMES OSB Board of Directors and Deputy Chairman of the Board. Following these roles, he assumed the position of Chairman of the IMES OSB Board of Directors on September 30, 2020. He currently continues to serve as the Chairman of the IMES OSB Board of Directors.

To create larger production areas for Turkish industry and industrialists in the Kocaeli region, TOKKAN is working towards the establishment of a new Organized Industrial Zone in Kocaeli. Within this scope, he founded the Kocaeli Machinery Manufacturers Association (KOMAİD), where he serves as the Chairman of the Board.

He also served as a founding member of the Entrepreneurial Board of Beylikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone (İBOSB), a member of the Board of Directors of İMES Industrial Site, and a member of the Supervisory Board of Beymersan Marble Cooperative.

He served as a founding member of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Üsküdar District Executive Board and as the Deputy District Chairman responsible for economic affairs, and as a member of the Üsküdar Municipality Council for the 5th term, starting on March 8, 2004. He was re-elected as a council member for the AKP in the 7th term local elections on March 30, 2014.

Ahmet TOKKAN continues his work in the roles of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Üsküdar Kent Hizmetleri A.Ş. (Kentur), Member of the Supervisory Board of Üsküdar Belediye Spor Kulübü, and Chairman of the Tariff Commission.

Ahmet TOKKAN is married and has two children.
