Hasan Basri Kayakıran

Hasan Basri Kayakıran was born on April 16, 1953 in Kilis. After graduating from an Austrian high school, he earned his degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 1978. After working for nine years at global companies (Siemens and BBC/ABB), he and his wife, Dr. Mücella Kayakıran, founded a company in 1989 to work on drive automation. They played a role in bringing pioneering work in areas such as PLC automation, drives, and drive automation to Turkey at an early stage.

In 2005, he rolled up his sleeves to produce a patented motor with a different motor physics, which existed only on paper and had only a few prototypes, in Turkey. He carried out all R&D work in Turkey with the support of TUBITAK and KOSGEB. Today, the company produces synchronous torque motors that generate up to 11,000 Nm of torque.

He became the inventor and owner of an internationally valid patent for a motor that provides higher efficiency and torque than the one he produced in 2019. In June 2019, he was elected as the President of ENOSAD Industrial Automation Industrialists Association, a position he still holds.

He has two children and four grandchildren, and speaks German and English.
